NEW CRUISE SHIP: MSC Divina floated out at St Nazaire

It has been confirmed that MSC Cruises’ new flagship, MSC Divina, floated out at the STX France yard in St Nazaire on 3 September, will sail in the Western Mediterranean next summer, offering seven-night cruises from Venice to Bari, Katakolon, Izmir, Istanbul and Dubrovnik from 2 June to 27 October.The 137,936gt vessel, costing €575 million, is named in honour of MSC fleet ‘godmother’ Sophia Loren, who will perform the naming in Marseille on 26 May 2012. MSC Divina will have 1,739 cabins, 100 more than sisterships MSC Splendida and MSC Fantasia. Work to move the 333.3m by 38m MSC Divina to complete fitting out at Dock C began at first light on 3 September.
