TRANSATLANTIC LINE: British Terminal Switch

TransAtlantic UK has switched its British terminal for its three times a week Swedish sailings from ABP Goole to ABP Hull following the signing of a new ten-year agreement for a new bespoke ten-acre terminal at the latter port. TransAtlantic has been calling at Goole since the early 1990s, originally as Pal Lin, but as traffic has grown to around 4000,000 tonnes a year, the move to Hull will accommodate increasing volumes of trade.

The last sailing from Goole on the service, which calls at the Swedish ports of Vasteras, Oxeelosund, and Norrkoping, Aarhus in Denmark, along with Amsterdam, was undertaken by Trans Njord (1995/2,997gt) on 4 September. Together with her sisters, she averages about 13.5 knots.
