A frequent visitor to UK ports, mainly with timber cargoes, the 3,186dwt Russian general cargo vessel Ivan Shchepetov ran aground in the morning of 13 April at Isefjord, Kattegat, Denmark. The vessel went hard aground and divers were asked to make a survey, but two days later the vessel was still firmly aground. A salvage plan was conceived and at 0500 on 16 April the vessel was refloated by J. A. Rederiet’s salvage vessel Susanne A (1969/348gt). Ivan Shchepetov is owned by Zagranperevozki VF of Novgorod. RC
