Seatruck vessel’s Mersey debut

Seatruck Progress, lead ship of four ordered from FSG, Flensburg, for Irish Sea unaccompanied trailer specialist Seatruck, completed a first Liverpool-Dublin return sailing on 19-20 December before full-time deployment starting in the last week of December. The Isle of Man-registered, 25-knot/2,166-lane-metre Seatruck Progress is expected to be joined by the second of the Germany-built quartet, Seatruck Power, at the end of February, leaving two further vessels for delivery during May and July. Seatruck parent the Clipper Group, who sold a 9.2 per cent shareholding in DFDS during December 2011, is changing naming style for the Seatruck ships with Clipper prefixes replaced. Clipper Panorama (2008/14,759gt), one of the four-ship Irish Sea series built by Astilleros Sevilla at Huelva, Spain, was the first to change, emerging from overhaul by Cammel Laird, Birkenhead, as Seatruck Panorama.
