World’s Largest Ethane Carrier delivered

China’s Jiangnan Shipyard at Shanghai recently delivered the 99,000 cubic-metre-capacity ethane carrier Pacific Ineos Belstaff to Pacific Gas (Hong Kong) Holdings Limited for long-term charter to the United Kingdom’s INEOS Group.

Ranked as the world’s largest ethane carrier, the new 755ft by 120ft ship makes use of a newly developed IMO Type-B cargo containment system developed by Jiangnan that can accommodate several liquefied gas cargoes, including LPG and ethylene, the latter at -104C.

The 60,000dwt vessel, which will trade between the US and Belgium, is also fitted with two C-type tanks mounted on the deck.
