Carnival Vista back in service

Carnival Vista cruise ship, which had been undergoing repairs at Port Canaveral, welcomed guests back on 15 September 2024. Earlier this month, the Carnival Cruise ship had to be taken out of service due to propulsion problems, which were limiting her cruising speed and led to the cancellation of an eight-night cruise to the Southern Caribbean.

After the necessary maintenance was completed, the Vista embarked on a six-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, sailing roundtrip from its homeport of Port Canaveral. The itinerary featured visits to Grand Turk, Amber Cove, and Half Moon Cay, one of Carnival Corporation’s private island destinations in the Bahamas.

Carnival Vista is set to continue its year-round Caribbean operations, offering additional six- and eight-night cruises from Port Canaveral. These itineraries will also include stops in popular destinations like Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, and St Maarten.

Earlier in August, passengers had reported the Vista was facing propulsion issues, causing the ship to miss scheduled ports of call. In response, Carnival announced plans to make the necessary repairs before the ship’s 18 August departure, assuring booked guests that the ship would be ready to sail from Port Canaveral.

Carnival Vista, built in 2017 by Fincantieri shipyard, had recently undergone a 30-day drydock in Spain, where it received Carnival’s new hull livery and underwent technical maintenance and general upkeep before resuming service in early February.
