Condor Liberation returns from overhaul

Condor Ferries’ Austal-built HSC Condor Liberation (2010/6,307gt) returned to Poole at the beginning of December following its out-of-water overhaul at the French port of Cherbourg.

On 4 December 2024 the 102m vessel moved to Bulwark Quay at the commercial port for restowing of its liferafts, and is due to return to Channel Islands service in time for the busy Christmas period.

Following the recent completion of a tender process to award a new 15-year contract for ro-ro ferry services to Jersey and Guernsey, Channel Island newcomers DFDS will operate to Jersey from Poole, Portsmouth and St Malo from 28 March 2025.

Guernsey will continue to be served from the same ports by Condor Ferries, rebranded as Brittany Ferries Channel Islands by its parent company.

At present the future of Condor Liberation, and the ro-ro freighter Commodore Goodwill (1996/11,166gt), are uncertain as both do not yet feature in schedules after March.
