Ulysses (2001/50,958gt) was away from the Irish Sea Central Corridor route between Dublin and Holyhead for longer than expected after refit delays at the Remontowa Yard in Gdansk, Poland.
The overrun also affected the refits of Rosslare-Fishguard route vessel Isle of Inishmore (1997/34,031gt) and Dublin-Cherbourg summer route vessel W. B. Yeats (2018/54,974gt), which were due to follow in turn.
Ulysses headed north to the Baltic on 6 January for dry-docking and major work to fit exhaust scrubbers.
She was expected to be back by the end of February, but this was extended and she returned to service on 16 March. It had been planned for W. B. Yeats to relieve Isle of Inishmore, which was also due to receive exhaust scrubbers.
The Irish Ferries fast craft Dublin Swift (2001/8,430gt) returned to service between Dublin and Holyhead on 6 March after a visit to Northern Ireland for a refit at Belfast Drydock, who use the former Harland and Wolff facility. RP
