Seatrium Limited has announced the award of a new Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) conversion contract from Kinetics, an energy transition initiative led by global floating power provider Karpowership.
This marks the fourth FSRU project between the two companies, building on a series of three prior LNG carrier conversions into FSRUs, with Kinetics establishing itself as a significant player in the global floating LNG sector.
The project, set to begin in the third quarter of 2025, will see the conversion of an LNG carrier into an FSRU named LNGT Turkiye.
The scope of work includes installing a regasification module, a spread-mooring system, and comprehensive integration of essential systems such as cargo handling, utility, electrical, automation, and offloading components.
This contract is the seventh FSRU awarded to Seatrium by Kinetics. Previous successful collaborations include Karmol LNGT Powership Africa, Asia, Europe, and most recently, Antarctica.
With two additional FSRU conversions currently underway, slated for delivery later this year and in early 2026, Seatrium continues to solidify its leadership in FSRU innovation and conversion expertise.
