New Virgin cruise ship Valiant Lady arrives on the Thames

Valiant Lady, Virgin Voyages’ second ship, made her Thames debut on 10 March 2022 during her tour around the UK.

She arrived at the London International Cruise Terminal at Tilbury in the morning, and will stay for a couple of days before heading for Liverpool on 12 March.

She will undertake her maiden voyage from Portsmouth later in the month, before she heads to her homeport in Barcelona.

is the second Lady ship of four in Virgin Voyages’ new adult-by-design, boutique luxury fleet.

Valiant Lady, like her sister ship Scarlet Lady, boasts contemporary design and new experiences for her passengers.

She has 1,330 cabins and 78 ‘RockStar Quarters’, plus two Massive Suites that come with their own turntables and a private hot tub.

86 per cent of cabins have their own balcony, and 93 per cent feature ocean views. Valiant Lady’s cabins also feature a new, elevated design to bring ‘warmer energy and a more sophisticated feel’, according to the company.

Speaking of the arrival of Valiant Lady to the UK, Tom McAlpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages, said:

“Following the success of our first lady ship, Scarlet Lady, we are so excited to debut Valiant Lady to the UK this March and begin our European tour. The lifting of UK travel restrictions has already shown promising signs with 70% uplift in bookings since December.

“The ship is 110,000 gross tons and measures 278m long and 38m wide. The ship has over 1,400 cabins that can accommodate more than 2,770 passengers on board, assisted by a crew of 1,160.”
