JEANIE IN DRY DOCK

19th barque Jeanie Johnston, a static museum ship on Dublin’s Liffey quays which tells the story of Irish famine and emigration to the New World, underwent her most extensive overhaul at Dublin Graving Docks Ltd since purchase by Dublin Docklands Development Authority in 2005. Jeanie Johnston was towed the short distance downriver to drydock during October. Among the work carried out on the barque was removal of debris along the waterline, replacement of timbers, hull-cleaning and repainting. JA
