KESS sell two of their small car carriers

K-Line European Sea Highway Services (KESS) have sold two of their quartet of small car carriers.

Main Highway and Neckar Highway have been sold to South Korean owners Samjoo Maritime (managers Doriko Ltd).

The four vessels were constructed by Detlef Hegemann Rolandwerft at Berne between 1998 and 2000.

Main Highway was delivered to EH Harms as Feedermate in November 1998 and Neckar Highway followed five months later as Fedderpilot.

The third and fourth ships, EMS Highway and Isar Highway, remain in service with KESS.

The ships were designed for operating to small ports with a shallow draft and a length overall at one hundred metres.

Ice classed for winter operation in the Baltic they are equipped with two MAK eight cylinder engines and twin rudders enabling manoeuvring in confined waters.
