Ultramax bulk carrier changes hands

The 60,309dwt Ultramax bulk carrier STH New York, built in 2015 by Tokyo-headquartered Japan Marine United (JMU), has been acquired by Diana Shipping of Greece and renamed DSI Aquila.

Its purchase brings the Greek company’s fleet up to 40 ships consisting of four Newcastlemax, 11 Capesize, five Post-Panamax, six Kamsarmax, eight Panamax and six Ultramax with a combined carrying capacity of approximately 4.7 million dwt.

A further three Ultramax vessels are to be phased into the company’s fleet over the next three months.
