Lauritzen fleet expands

Japan’s Shin Kurushima Dockyard has delivered Chise Bulker (21,174gt/ 33,355dwt) to Orix Maritime for operation within Denmark’s J. Lauritzen fleet. The grab-fitted bulk carrier measures 179m by 28m and can accommodate 44,075cm3 grain and 43,118cm3 bale in five holds served by four 30.5-tonne capacity electro-hydraulic cranes. She has a service speed of about 14 knots.

J. Lauritzen, which celebrated its 130th anniversary last year, now operates more than 150 vessels worldwide, including a number of short-term charters. JS
