Pride of Kent heads to Tilbury

P&O’s Channel ferry Pride of Kent (1992), which made her final sailings on 6 June 2023, is sailing into retirement from the Dover to Calais route and has gone into layup in the Port of Tilbury.

The 180m former cross-Channel ferry built in 1992 headed up the Thames on 14 July 2023 having ended her days on the Channel for the moment.

Pride of Kent has been replace dby the new double-ended P&O Pioneer.

She was built as European Highway for the Dover-Zeebrugge freight service, having been rebuilt as Pride of Kent in 2003.

Fleetmate Pride of Burgundy (1992/28,138gt) was sold for scrap in April 2023 and left Dunkirk for the shipbreaking beaches of Aliaga, but it is not yet clear what the future will hold for Pride of Kent.
