FERRY REDEPLOYMENT: Dublin pair quickly moved

Final DFDS sailings from Birkenhead and Heysham to Dublin were completed during the last weekend of January with the 320-passenger/100-car/135-truck ro-pax twins Dublin Seaways and Liverpool Seaways quickly redeployed. Dublin Seaways left the Mersey to begin a spell on the Rosyth-Zeebrugge run from 31 January, joining Tor Finlandia, which reopened the route on 7 January.

Almost immediately DFDS confirmed sale of the 1996-built vessel to Stena Line North Sea for €24 million. Liverpool Seaways went through the English Channel to drop off port installations from Dublin before continuing to the Baltic, where from 21 February she started operating between Klaipeda and Karlshamn under the Lithuanian flag.
