SMALL CRUISE SHIP: Five-star experience

Shiplovers and coastal cruising enthusiasts have a one-off opportunity to experience the five-star vessel Hebridean Princess during a five-night private cruise from 24 to 29 February 2012. Originally the MacBrayne car ferry Columba, built in 1964, the vessel has been cruising since 1989, claiming a unique place in the small ship luxury market, with onboard comfort and levels of service from an almost forgotten era.

Departing from Greenock Cruise Terminal, Hebridean Princess will sail on the Clyde and Irish Sea within an area bounded by the Solway Firth, Carlingford Lough, Malin Head and Islay, with the itinerary decided day by day depending on weather conditions, but following the Hebridean Island Cruises pattern of coastal cruising by day and the vessel anchoring overnight.

Fares (inclusive of meals, wine with dinner, tea/coffee and fresh fruit, and gratuities) will be at a fraction of normal high-season prices, and the cruise will include wheelhouse and engine room visits. For details contact organiser Jeremy Gold, on 0208 3499837 or jgold@waitrose.com.
