DISNEY CRUISE LINE: Disney spreads ever wider

With its two new ships sailing from Port Canaveral, Disney Cruise Line is sending its two older vessels to a number of new ports during 2012. Beginning on 25 May, Disney Magic (1998/83,338gt) will sail 20 cruises from New York, including eight-night cruises to the Bahamas and five-night cruises to New England and Canada. There will also be three two-night weekend sailings to nowhere. On 22 September 2012 Disney Magic moves to Galveston for 12 seven-night cruises to the Western Caribbean, calling at Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel.

Disney Wonder (1999/83,308gt), meanwhile, begins a season in Alaska from Seattle on 28 May 2012, with 14 weekly cruises to Tracy Arm, Skagway, Juneau and Victoria, British Columbia. For most of the year, she will operate from Los Angeles on a weekly Mexican Riviera itinerary and, for the first time, will offer a 15-night voyage to Hawaii.

Disney Fantasy (2012/122,000gt) departs on her maiden voyage on 31 March 2012 from Port Canaveral and will alternate weekly between the Eastern Caribbean, calling at St Maarten and St Thomas, and the Western Caribbean, with port calls at Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel. All cruises feature a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. Disney Dream (2011/122,000gt) sails on three-, four- and five-night cruises from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas.
