In 2008 the Hull-based firm of J. R. Rix added four new vessels to its fleet of bunkering tankers to meet increased demand, the result of higher transport costs and awareness of environmental issues. Lizrix was the second of these four new vessels to enter the fleet when named, and now the 1,942dwt, 8.6 knot tanker, which has spent much of her time bunkering vessels in Falmouth Bay, has been to Milford Haven for drydocking. High winds and fog prevented her from entering the port when she first arrived, but she eventually got to Milford Dock on 6 April for a four-day stay.
