NORTH CHANNEL: Twins’ conversion begins

After completing final sailings on Tallink’s Rostock-Helsinki route in mid-August, overnight ferries Superfast VII and Superfast VIII headed for Poland to begin a two-month conversion prior to entering service as day vessels on Stena Line’s Irish Sea North Channel service from Belfast to the new Loch Ryan Port at Cairnrnan.

The 30,285gt sisters, completed by HDW at Kiel in 2001, first served Superfast’s Baltic route from Rostock to Hanko until purchase by Tallink in 2006 when the Finnish destination port was switched to Helsinki. They were originally part of a four ship series.
