ROYAL NAVY: HMS Albion arrives in Liverpool

HMS Albion, one of the Royal Navy’s largest warships, arrived in Liverpool for a six-day visit. The 18,000 tonne amphibious assault ship was moored at Liverpool’s cruise liner terminal, and the visit included a parade through Chester by the ship’s crew to celebrate the ship’s 10th birthday. HMS Albion, the Royal Navy’s current flagship, recently returned from deployment in the Mediterranean and Middle East.

Commanding Officer, Captain James Morley, said, “It is an honour and privilege to visit Liverpool, a city with such a famous heritage. We are also extremely proud to have been invited to march through our affiliated city of Chester to commemorate 10 years since the ship was launched.”
