OCEAN STAR CRUISES: Mexico Cruises to resume

Mexican operator Ocean Star Cruises is hoping to bring Ocean Star Pacific (1971/23,149gt) back into service on 11 December after a prolonged period of repairs following a fire in one of her generators on 15 April, shortly after she entered service for her new owners. The 1,050-passenger vessel underwent repairs in Salina Cruz and was back in operation in early June. Air-conditioning problems then halted operations again on 22 July, and she was docked at Manzanillo for further repairs and refurbishment. Ocean Star Pacific was acquired last December from Louis Cruise Lines, for whom she sailed as Aquamarine and underwent a major overhaul in Curacao before entering cruise service along the Mexican Riviera, between Acapulco and Manzanillo. She was built as Nordic Prince for Royal Caribbean.
