TANKER: Export Cargo For Venezuela

It is unusual for UK export cargoes to be destined for Venezuela, but in September a Turkish-flag vessel loaded a cargo of neodene at the Stanlow Chemical berth on the Manchester Ship Canal destined for the port of Puerto Cabello.

Deniz A is a relatively small chemical/oil products tanker of 4,753dwt and she can load 4,585m3 in eight tanks. She had previously discharged a cargo on the Manchester Ship Canal before moving to the chemical berth at Stanlow on 17 September. Here she was to load her export cargo of 2,800 tons of Neodene.

She can load at 800m3 per hour and, with a draft of 5.8m, she left the Ship Canal the following day to sail direct for Puerto Cabello. She sailed at an average speed of 11.9knots and reached in Venezuela on 3October.
