Silversea renaming

Silversea Cruise Line have recently renamed their small cruise ship Prince Albert II, which was built as Delphin Clipper in 1989, Silver Explorer, bringing her into line with Silversea’s wishes for their fleet ships all to start with the prefix Silver named.A 1A ice-rated vessel, she was built by Rauma-Repola, in Rauma, Finland, and launched on 3 February 1989. Measuring 354ft (108m) by 52ft (15.85m), she has five guest decks. Acquired by Silversea in 2007 from Society Expeditions, who operated her as World Adventurer and World Discoverer, she underwent a refit at Fincantieri in Trieste, Italy in 2008. In the summer she cruises in the Arctic Circle, making calls at the Svalbard archipelago, Iceland and Greenland.
