Regent rumours about newbuild

Regent Seven Seas Cruises is believed to be in talks with a European shipyard to build a new ship for the upmarket line, with delivery expected in 2014. The vessel will be approximately 50,000 gross registered tons and carry 700 passengers, similar in size to the line’s three current ships. It would be the first ship introduced by RSSC since the 700-passenger Seven Seas Voyager (2003/41,500) entered service in 2003. It also operates the 700-passenger Seven Seas Mariner (2001/48,075) and the 490-passenger Seven Seas Navigator (1999/28,550). Sister company Oceania Cruises introduced Marina (65,999gt) at the beginning of this year and is due to take delivery of sistership Riviera in April. Both Oceania and Regent are owned by Prestige Cruise Holdings, itself owned by Apollo Capital.
