A wave of tsunami debris is headed for the Pacific Coast of North America. It was spotted by the Russian sailing ship Pallada as the University vessel was returning to her homeport of Vladivostok following goodwill visits to several North American ports. Crewmen and cadets aboard the ship were able to see the debris field from the vessel’s tall masts over a five-day period in late September. Scientists at the International Pacific Research Center at the University of Hawaii have been tracking the trajectory of the debris field.
