Surf receives makeover

Windstar Cruises’ Wind Surf (1989/14,745gt) underwent a refit at Setubal, Portugal prior to a repositioning across the Atlantic for her winter Caribbean season. This was the first phase of the line’s $US18 million fleet refurbishment, during the course of which the vessel’s cabins were upgraded. All have been fitted with new furniture, furnishings and carpeting, while the corridors received new wall coverings and artwork. Work on Wind Surf’s public rooms will be carried out this autumn and will include the transformation of Degrees Restaurant into a Mediterranean bistro. The Veranda Restaurant will have a new buffet area and its outdoor seating area will be expanded, while the Compass Rose will be refurbished to give it the look of a private club.Sisterships Wind Star (1986/5,703gt) and Wind Spirit (1988/5,736gt) are also about to begin their refurbishment prior to beginning their Mediterranean season in April.
