Biggest merchant ship to visit Portsmouth

Just after Christmas 2016 what is reported to be the largest merchant ship ever to call at Portsmouth, the UK-flagged Ocean Promise, arrived in the port.

The 26,718gt container ship  arrived to the commercial port after Christmas at sea. She sailed a few days later for Antwerp and then called at Hamburg in early January 2017.

The 2001-built vessel measures 210.07m by 30.23m and was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries at Ulsan, South Korea.
