SILVERSEA CRUISES: World’s most expensive cruise

A UK travel agent is promoting what is being billed as the most expensive cruise ever. Six Star Cruises are promoting the holiday of a lifetime for £1 million, or £8,000 a day. In return, a couple will be helicopter-transferred from their home to London Airport.

A private jet will then fly them to Los Angeles, where they will spend four nights in a suite at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. On 4 January 2013 they will embark on Silversea’s Silver Whisper (2001/28,252gt) for her 115-day World Cruise, being accommodated in one of the ship’s Royal Suites.

The itinerary takes in the South Pacific, Australasia, Far East, India, South Africa and the Caribbean. 52 ports in 28 countries later, they arrive in Fort Lauderdale, where a four-day stay in a luxury private villa precedes their return home, again by private jet.
