P&O CRUISES: P&O’s Grand Event becomes Royal Event

If you are reading this edition in the UK, there may still be time for you to attend P&O’s Grand Event on 3 July. The company’s entire fleet of seven ships will be in Southampton that day and will sail during the early evening, departing between 1700 and 1900 and sailing in line down Southampton Water before adopting a formation off Ryde to be inspected by HRH The Princess Royal who, in her capacity as Master of the Corporation of Trinity House, will be aboard THV Patricia.

HRH has a connection with one of the ships in the parade, as she and her daughter jointly named Oceana and the previous Adonia in 2002, and will have previously been aboard Oriana in Southampton for a reception before joining Patricia. It is expected that the ships will leave from the following berths: Adonia 38/39, Arcadia 104, Aurora 102, Azura 46, Oceana 38/39, Oriana 101 and Ventura 106.
