Carnival Spirit back after dry-docking

Carnival Spirit sailed through Sydney Heads on 24 June 2018 after a 14-day dry dock in Singapore.

Guests on board the 19-day cruise back to Sydney were some of the first to experience the enhancements and new features added to Carnival Spirit’s onboard experience after its dry dock.

Carnival has invested 350,000 manhours into the dry dock work, which gives the ship new updates and additions to Carnival Spirit’s family-friendly entertainment offerings.

Carnival Spirit is the first ship in its fleet to receive the brand new creative studio named SoulPlay, launched specifically for its Australian guests.

Designed for all age groups, this space provides fun for the family while they are participating in creative and trendy craft activities and desigining colourful pieces of art to take home or gift to others.

The Warehouse, the video arcade, has been added to Carnival Spirit. The arcade boasts a wide range of the latest arcade games that appeal to tweens and teens.

Carnival Spirit is the second member of the Spirit class to be built and enter service, after Costa Atlantica.

Built by Kværner Masa-Yards at its Helsinki New Shipyard in Helsinki, Finland, Carnival Spirit was floated out on 1 May 2001, and christened by American politician Elizabeth Dole in Miami on 27 April 2001.

Of her cabins, 80 percent of her cabins are on the outside of the ship, and of these outside cabins, 80% have balconies.
