Another giant container ship launched

On 15 June 2023 the second ship of the world’s largest 24,100TEU container ship series, MSC Nicola Mastro, was christened and delivered by Jiangnan Shipyard in cooperation with China Shipbuilding Trading for Bocom Leasing and MSC.

The ship was designed by Hudong-Zhonghua and is classified into DNV. The ship is 399.99m in length, with a beam of 61.5m, and the moulded depth is 33.2m. She can carry 24,116 standard containers.

She is currently the largest container ship type in the world. There are four ships in this series. The first, MSC Raya, was delivered on 30 March, and the other two ships will be delivered later this year as scheduled.
