Container ships: Boxboat efficiency from Korea

South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) yard at Gunsan has delivered the 5,000TEU super-efficient container ships Alexandros and Aristotelis to Capital Shipmanagement as the first of five sisters, the remaining three to be handed over within the next few weeks. The 62,335dwt ships have also been designed for one-man bridge control and are capable of sailing at slow speeds. The former vessel is now sailing as Hyundai Prestige. JS
