Breeze Ship Design contracted for newbuild AHTS

Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding, based in China, has awarded a contract to Norwegian firm Breeze Ship Design for the creation of a 150-tonne bollard pull anchor handling tug offshore support vessel (AHTS) for an undisclosed owner.

Breeze Ship Design announced that the 78m vessel will be based on its Z 4650 design, featuring DP2-class capability and optimized for demanding anchor handling operations in offshore environments, ensuring optimal performance and operational flexibility.

The vessel will be powered by medium-speed diesel engines, a reduction gearbox with power take-off/power take-in functionality, and controllable pitch propellers.

It will boast a 3,000-deadweight ton capacity, a 500-square meter working deck, and accommodation for 18 crew members and 32 non-crew personnel.
