BRITTANY FERRIES: More berths for new route

The Capacity of Cap Finistere will be increased to 1,000 passengers before the one-time Superfast vessel opens Brittany Ferries’ new twice-weekly Portsmouth-Bilbao service in March. The present 842 beds will be boosted by the creation of 26 new two-berth inside cabins, while 14 two-berth outside cabins will be upgraded. Ten extra dog-friendly cabins are also being provided.

Restaurant arrangements are unchanged, but the top deck promenade is to receive teak decking in a bid to generate an ocean liner atmosphere and other work will include covering of the swimming pool area. The 2001-built Cap Finistere will also make one weekly Portsmouth-Santander round trip, but the Portsmouth-Cherbourg circuits provided between rotations to Spain in 2010 are dropped.
