Bulk carrier: Bulk carrying round the world

Delivered on 5 July 2012 by Jiangmen Nanyang Ship Engineering Co Ltd, Jiangmen for Danred VK/S of Hellerup, Denmark, the new bulk carrier Bianco Victoria Bulker is now beginning to pay her way round the world. Registered in Valletta, the 20,928gt, 32,178dwt vessel, measuring 179.9m by 28.4m and classed as a Handysize Log Bulk Carrier, can carry grain and is strengthened for heavy cargoes so holds 2 and 4 can be left empty if necessary.

While she is specially fitted for log carrying and log lashing, she can be used for other bulk cargoes and in September 2012, when she reached the UK ports of Newport and Immingham, she brought iron ore. In early December 2012 she passed through the Kattegat on passage from Ghent to Kotka in Sweden, where she loaded timber for West Africa before proceeding to South America to load a cargo for El Ferrol in Spain to get her back to Europe.
