H-Line orders two more dual-fuel pure car and truck carriers

China State Shipbuilding Corp’s Guangzhou Shipyard International unit has announced the extension of two existing newbuilding orders.

South Korea-based shipowner H-Line has added a further two dual-fuel pure car and truck carriers to a previous two-vessel order placed in late 2021.

The 7,000CEU ships are due for delivery during 2025 and have been priced at $83 million each.

The initial vessels were contracted against a long-term time charter to vehicle carrier operator Hyundai Glovis and are due for delivery in the third and second quarters of 2024.

This latest order brings the shipyard’s backlog of PCTCs to eight vessels.

Last year, SFL Corp penned four similar vessels to the H-Line ships for delivery during 2023 and 2024.
