CELEBRITY CRUISES: Coming to Europe

In a demonstration of faith in the ability of European cruise markets to absorb extra berths, Celebrity Cruises will base six ships in Europe for the 2013 summer season, including four of the five Solstice class ships.

Celebrity Reflection, to be delivered by the Meyer shipyard in the autumn, will operate a full season of ten- and 11-night cruises from Civitavecchia, while Celebrity Silhouette will offer sailings between Venice and Civitavecchia, together with a range of ten- and 13-night trips from Venice.

The third ship of this series to sail in Europe is Celebrity Eclipse. Already well-established at her Southampton base, she will continue to offer a range of cruises to Norway, the Baltic, the Canaries and the Mediterranean. The last of this quartet, Celebrity Equinox, will sail a full programme of 12-night Med itineraries from Barcelona.

Finally, two of the four-ship Millennium class will complete the European line-up. Celebrity Infinity will be using Harwich for the first time to operate cruises that generally head north, while Celebrity Constellation, a frequent visitor to Dover, will be based first in Amsterdam for Northern Europe itineraries, and then in Istanbul, from where she will perform two cruises to the Black Sea.
