The China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) has delivered the 124m by 24m research and dive support vessel Oriental Dragon to Jumeirah Offshore, a Singapore-based marine engineering company.

Designed by Shanghai-based Bestway Marine Engineering Design Company and built by CSSC subsidiary, Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company, the new vessel is considered the most advanced ship of its kind to be built in China to date.

It is capable of supporting up to 24 divers conducting operations in depths down to 300m and has been fitted with two remotely operated underwater vehicles capable of diving to a depth of 3,000m. Jim Shaw
