China Merchants Energy welcomes new crude oil carrier

On 5 March 2024 the 115000dwt crude oil carrier built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry for China Merchants Energy Shipping was successfully delivered and named New Alliance.

The vessel is the first of a new generation of green and environmentally friendly Aframax crude oil tankers built by DSIC for CMES, with an overall length of about 243m, a breadth of 44m, and a capacity to carry about 800,000 barrels of crude oil.

The ship is designed for the first time with a soil-less vegetable planting ecosystem, where the crew can plant fresh vegetables of their own, making their lives greener and healthier, and which effectively enhances the crew’s sense of well-being.
