COMPANY NEWS: Algoma renames

Canada’s Algoma Central Corporation has announced new names for the fleet of ships it recently acquired from Upper Lakes Group Inc, with the changes to be as follows: ‘Algoma’ replaces ‘Canadian’ as the first word of each name, so Canadian Transport becomes Algoma Transport (pictured below), Canadian Enterprise becomes Algoma Enterprise and so on. Three of the Upper Lakes Group vessels, John D. Leitch, James Norris and Gordon C. Leitch, will retain their names, while a newbuilding, to have been christened Canadian Mariner, has since entered service as Algoma Mariner.
