Disney Treasure heads out on sea trials

On 18 September 2024 the new cruise ship Disney Treasure completed another milestone in her completion when she was guided by tugboat down the Ems River from Meyer Werft shipyard toward open water for the first time.

The ship made its way down the river, passing waving spectators who lined the riverbank to celebrate the vessel’s departure. Over the next few days, the ship went through a series of rigorous sea trials.

The captain of Disney Treasure, Captain Marco, was on board to help oversee the trials and ensure Disney Treasure is ready for her forthcoming transatlantic journey.

Disney Treasure is the sixth cruise ship owned and operated by Disney Cruise Line, and is due to enter service at the end of the year. Her sister ship, Disney Wish, was launched in 2022.
