Dual-fuel Pure Car and Truck Carriers ordered

Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping has ordered five dual-fuel Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) from China’s CSC Jinling Shipyard for delivery by 2024.

The 72,000gt ships, to measure 200m by 38m, will feature 12 cargo decks and be capable of accommodating up to 7,000 vehicles.

Dual-fuel diesel-LNG engines driving a single propeller will provide a service speed of 19.5 knots on a design draught of 8.6m, while the use of optimised ART rudders supplied by Holland’s Damen Marine Components will give fuel savings. JS
