CARGO NEWS: Eco designed VLCCs

On 2 October global petroleum owner-operator AET named two VLCC newbuildings at the DSME shipyard in Korea. One of the vessels, Eagle Verona (pictured), was delivered immediately

with the other, Eagle Versailles, to follow in December. Both 320,000dwt vessels have been built to the latest ‘eco-design’ and are among the greenest VLCCs operating. Innovations include MAN B&W’s latest super-stroke electronically controlled main engine, together with a higher efficient propeller of larger diameter and lower revolutions.
