DFDS Logistics now offer a door-to-door container service from Spain to the UK and Ireland, in partnership with Vapores Suardiaz Norte SL. The line is now served by three container vessels, each sailing from Bilbao to UK and Irish Ports on a weekly basis. The three vessels that have come into the service are the 2004-built Encounter (600TEU), Philip (750TEU) and Endeavor (750TEU).
Endeavor serves Avonmouth, Liverpool and Greenock, while Philip also makes regular calls at Dublin. At the moment the 9,168dwt Endeavor, built by Volharding Shipyards BV, Foxhol and registered in Harlingen, Netherlands, arrives at Avonmouth every Saturday. Although built in Foxhol, the 136m vessel was constructed on a hull supplied by Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries SA, of Mangalia, and is owned by Endeavor Shipping BV. RC
