French and Finnish naval ships call at London

The River Thames welcomes the Finnish Navy’s FNS Hämeenmaa for a port call to the Upper Pool of London where the 77.8m minelayer will berth alongside HMS Belfast.

Finland has recently joined NATO, and this is the first visit to the capital of a Finnish warship. She is pictured inbound on the Thames, passing Gravesend.

The French Navy’s minesweeper FS Croix Du Sud has also been to London and is pictured heading out to sea to resume her defence duties. The 52m warship was also berthed alongside HMS Belfast in the Upper Pool of London.
