Jack-up installation vessel Wind Peak dlivered

Cadeler, the world’s largest operator in offshore wind installation, operations, and maintenance services, has taken delivery of its groundbreaking P-class jack-up installation vessel, Wind Peak.

The vessel, constructed at the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry shipyard in Qidong, China, was named at a ceremony recently and is now ready for commercial operation.

Wind Peak represents a new era in offshore wind installation capability, having been specifically designed to handle the largest offshore wind turbine components.

The P-class vessels, including Wind Peak and sistership Wind Pace (currently under construction), are engineered to operate in the most challenging offshore installation sites globally.

Cadeler owns and operates the industry’s largest fleet of jack-up offshore wind installation vessels, with five vessels in operation (including Wind Peak) and another six under construction.

The P class vessels can transport and install either seven complete 15 MW turbine sets or five sets of 20+ MW turbines per load.

With a deck area of 5,600m² and a payload capacity exceeding 17,600 tons, they offer ample room for large components.

The vessels’ main crane is capable of lifting more than 2,500 tons at a height of 53 meters, enabling the installation of increasingly larger wind turbines.

Additionally, each vessel can comfortably accommodate up to 130 crew members and installation technicians, ensuring efficient operations during extended offshore projects.
