Fincantieri announced that the keel-laying ceremony for Seven Seas Prestige, the ultra-luxury cruise ship being built for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, took place today at the Marghera shipyard on 27 March. The vessel is slated for delivery in 2026.
The ceremony was attended by executives, including Harry Sommer, President & CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd; Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises; and Daniele Fanara, Fincantieri’s Senior Vice President of New Building and After Sales, among others. In keeping with maritime tradition, three specially selected coins were welded to the ship’s keel as a symbol of good fortune.
With a gross tonnage of 77,000 and a length of 257m, Seven Seas Prestige will accommodate approximately 850 guests in 434 spacious suites, offering one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the industry.
As the first vessel in the new Prestige class, it will set new standards in luxury, featuring elegant design, innovative accommodations and cutting-edge environmental technologies.
Seven Seas Prestige will be the first unit of the new Prestige class, a new generation of ships that follows the successful and appreciated Explorer series, also built by Fincantieri: Seven Seas Explorer (2016), Seven Seas Splendor (2020) and Seven Seas Grandeur (2023), delivered respectively in the Sestri Ponente and Ancona shipyards.
