LNG-fuelled vessels for Bore Ltd

Finland-based Bore Ltd, an affiliate of the Dutch Spliethoff Group, has ordered three LNG-fuelled short-sea vessels from the WuHu shipyard in China with delivery of the first unit expected by mid-2021.

The 120m long ships, to be completed to Finnish/Swedish Ice Class 1A requirements, will be chartered to Finnish forestry company UPM for operation in the Baltic and North Seas.

Each will be propelled by a Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engine driving a Wärtsilä controllable pitch propeller through a Wärtsilä gearbox fitted with an integrated power pack. A 250 m3 capacity Wärtsilä LNGPac storage tank and supply system will be installed below deck.
