Mein Schiff 5 maiden call at Portland

On 12 September 2016 the TUI cruise ship Mein Schiff 5, which entered service in early 2016, made her maiden call at Portland, Dorset. It was also the first time a TUI cruise ship had called at the port.

The 98,785gt Mein Schiff 5 offers a premium all-inclusive cruise and is mainly aimed at the German market. She was completed by Meyer Turku Shipyard, Turku, Finland and made her maiden voyage on 16 July 2016.

Similar to her sisterships Mein Schiff 3 and Mein Schiff 4, she offers a range of activities on board, and many of her passengers were riding mountain bikes supplied by the ship.

She arrived early in the morning, scheduled to be 0700, and is the latest cruise ship to call at Portland Ports, where for 15 ships were scheduled for 2016. During September Phoenix Reisen’s Albatros and the new Holland America ship Koningsdam also called at the port.
